Talent Showcase!
A Lights on Afterschool event
Organized by the Afterschool Alliance, Lights on Afterschool is a nationwide initiative that promotes the importance of learning beyond the classroom, emphasizing the benefits afterschool programs offer not only to children but also to parents.
ExpandLA – which supports, connects, and advocates for expanded learning opportunities for young people in Los Angeles – is a part of this initiative, and has recruited many great educational organizations in the area to participate in a joint event on October 24, 2024.
The Immersive Art Collective is honored to partake in this venture, along with other organizations in the Metro L.A. region, to host the “Shine On Talent Showcase” as part of Light on Afterschool.
This event will feature live entertainment from professional performers and will open up the stage for any child who wants to show off their talent! There will also be booths showcasing local educational organizations as they put on live demonstrations and host fun activities. This is a great way for kids and parents alike to learn about the wealth of educational opportunities the community has to offer.

Creative Bend is the culmination of IAC’s various outreach efforts to give children from low-income families in Los Angeles the opportunity to grow and express themselves through the arts. This program kicked off in 2024 with a 2-week summer camp in which a group of kids participated in a wide variety of artistic activities, including world-building, set design, lighting, body movement exercises, taiko drumming, and so much more!
Creative Bend will continue throughout the year in the form of seasonal workshops, programs, and camps, so stay tuned for updates!
