What is Creative Bend?
Creative Bend is the culmination of IAC’s various outreach efforts to give children from low-income families in Los Angeles the opportunity to grow and express themselves through the arts. This program kicked off in 2024 with a 2-week summer camp in which a group of kids participated in a wide variety of artistic activities, including world-building, set design, lighting, body movement exercises, taiko drumming, and so much more!

Through Creative Bend, we aim to provide little artists with free access to enriching summer activities taught by professional volunteers.

CREATIVE BEND 2025:
Commedia Dell'arte & Immersive Theatre
January 5 - Jaunary 10, 2026

This winter break, step into the world of masks, mischief, and movement at Creative Bend! Designed for curious, creative young minds, this one-week program introduces campers to the rich tradition of Commedia dell’arte and the thrill of immersive theatre.

-
Learn and embody classic Commedia characters like Arlecchino, Pantalone, and Colombina
-
Craft their own theatrical masks and design set pieces in hands-on production design workshops
-
Build confidence, body awareness, and collaboration through ensemble-based activities
-
Create and perform in an original immersive showcase where the audience becomes part of the story
